Mike Steed Stage
In September of 2019, the stage at Copeland Hall was named The
Mike Steed Stage. Mike Steed was a beloved member of the Bowdon community, who for years served the City in a number of ways, including serving on various city committees and commissions. During the years of the "Sertoma Concert Series ," sponsored by the Bowdon Sertoma Club, many well known performers visited the Copeland Hall stage. The driving force behind these popular concerts was Mike Steed himself. Mike booked, publicized, and organized these concerts, making friends and acquaintances from all over. When he spoke about those concerts, his face lit up as he shared his passion and enjoyment of musical acts of all kinds. His love of all things musical, all things Bowdon, and people in general was contagious and one could easily catch his vision. That's why the Copeland Hall stage is now the Mike Steed Stage. Unfortunately, we lost Mike Steed in 2020, but the Mike Steed Stage is one of the many legacies he left behind.
