Bowdon is home to several beautiful parks:
Barr Park, located on Parson Street, is a lovely park with a walking trail. This park is located on land donated to the city by the family of John and Jean Barr. This park is a peaceful place to taka a leisurely walk!
Freedom Park is home to the city flags that fly for the United States of America, State of Georgia, and City of Bowdon. It is located on City Hall Avenue, and is dedicated to the many Bowdon citizens who have served and some who died for their country.
Heritage Park, located on Wedowee Street, in Downtown Bowdon, is often a focal area for local events, such as Bowdon by Candlelight in November, and Founders Day in August.
Strong Reach Playground, located behind Widener Family Dentistry on East Carroll Street, is a park with a playground specially designed to be easily accessible to all children, including those with special needs.
Whatley Park, located on College View Street, was a piece of the land that belonged to the original Bowdon College campus, and was donated to the city by the Whatley family in 2003. It currently is home to a beautiful gazebo surrounded by green foliage.
Watts Park, which is still in the development stages, is located on a beautiful piece of land directly behind the spot where Jubal Watts Memorial Hospital once stood, on West College Street. This land was donated to the City by the Jubal Watts family.
